RRB Group D 2025-26 – Mega Recruitment
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially notified the Group D (Level 1) vacancies for 2026. This is one of the largest central government recruitments, with more than 22,195 posts across all zones (including N.F. Railway, Guwahati).
Posts: Assistant TRD, Assistant Operations (Electrical), Assistant TL and AC, Assistant (S and T), Pointsman B, Assistant Track Machine, Trackmaintainer-IV, Assistant Bridge, Assistant Carriage and Wagon, Assistant Loco Shed (Electrical), Assistant P.Way . RRB Group D Level 1 positions follow the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) guidelines. The starting basic pay is fixed at ₹18,000 per month

Eligibility – Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
10th Pass (Matriculation) or ITI from NCVT/SCVT.
Min 50% not required – only pass
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
18 to 33 years for UR, relaxations as per govt norms.
- UR/EWS: 18 to 33 Years
- OBC: 18 to 36 Years (+3yr)
- SC/ST: 18 to 38 Years (+5yr)
Other requirements
Medical fitness (Category B-2 for most posts) – Visual acuity, physical endurance. For candidates from Assam/NE, medical exam will be at Railway hospitals.

100 MCQs: Maths, Reasoning, GK, Science. 90 min, negative marking 1/3rd
PET / PMT
Physical Efficiency Test: 1000m run, 100m sprint, weightlifting (as per category).
Document Verification
Original certificates – domicile, caste, 10th marksheet.
Medical Exam
Fitness B-2, vision standards. Provisional empanelment

Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, %, Ratio, Time & Work, Speed, Mensuration (10th level).
General Intelligence
Analogy, Coding, Syllogism, Venn diagram, Patterns – practice daily.

Current affairs (2025-26), Railway budget, Sports, Assam specific: Kaziranga, Bihu, Governors, NE states.
General Science
Physics, Chemistry, Biology – class 10 level, NCERT based.

Is 12th pass eligible for Group D?
Yes, 10th pass is minimum; 12th pass candidates are also eligible. ITI holders can also apply.
What is the PET standard for female candidates from Assam?
Female: 1000m run in 5:40 min, 100m in 20 sec, 20kg weightlifting (carry for 100m). Relaxation as per rules.
Can I choose exam centre in Assam?
Absolutely: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, Tezpur, Diphu, Kokrajhar – available in RRB online application.
What about language in CBT?
Available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Bodo etc. You can select during application.
